A Proud Legacy of Service 🌟

The GFWC Woman’s Club of Tarpon Springs has been serving our community since 1892—more than 130 years of women coming together to make a difference.

Our Club also holds a special place in Florida history. In 1895, Tarpon Springs was one of five Woman’s Clubs that gathered in Green Cove Springs to help organize what would become the Florida Federation of Women’s Clubs.

Our Legacy Continues

The world has changed since 1892, but the importance of service has not.

Today, our members continue that legacy by volunteering throughout our schools, libraries, nonprofits, churches, senior programs, community organizations, and beyond.

We are women of different ages, backgrounds, talents, and interests, united by one common purpose:

Who Is GFWC? 🌟

The General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) is one of the world’s largest and oldest volunteer women’s service organizations, bringing women together to strengthen communities through volunteer service, leadership, and friendship.

Founded in 1890, GFWC connects clubwomen across the United States and around the world. While members represent different ages, backgrounds, interests, and experiences, they share one important goal: making a positive difference in the communities they call home.

“Living the Volunteer Spirit” is at the heart of everything we do. Our Club brings women of all ages and backgrounds together through friendship, service, and a shared desire to make a difference. Members can choose the causes and projects that speak to them, using their individual talents and interests to strengthen our community. 🌟

Our Local Projects Fall Under Five Community Service Programs

There is something for everyone to volunteer for

GFWC Woman's Club of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Inc. is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 organization. In any given week, our clubwomen are preparing meals for the homeless, sewing blankets for kids in foster care, supporting our veterans, collecting and distributing new and gently used books to children to promote literacy and develop leadership skills, and much more.

Domestic Violence

GFWC is a national leader in the fight to end domestic violence by raising awareness about this social issue. The goal of this signature program is to increase awareness of and help prevent the widespread occurrence of domestic and sexual abuse and violence against women by working with national domestic violence networks and initiating educational opportunities. GFWC is a powerful voice for those who have no voice.
